You sign in with each platform directly. Where supported, that platform gives SM Crawler a separate revocable connection, token or app-specific password. The operator does not ask for, receive, retain or know the personal password you normally use.
Your SM Crawler password is stored as a salted scrypt hash, not readable text. The server verifies a cryptographically protected session cookie—signed for account sessions and a random server-checked value for local access—with HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict; repeated guesses are throttled and same-origin checks reject cross-site writes.
Supported incoming webhooks are signature-checked, customer workspaces are isolated, and HTTPS protects data in transit when secure remote access is active. Connections can be revoked or disconnected by the customer.
Local workspace files use restricted operating-system permissions. Before an update, the installer creates and verifies a dated rollback backup so the customer can recover the preserved installation and data.
